PostSubject: Torrey Smith says goodbye to Ravens   Mon Mar 09, 2015 3:27 am

By Gregg Rosenthal

Torrey Smith has already said goodbye to Baltimore. Will he be saying hello soon to his former teammate Anquan Boldin?

Smith wrote a goodbye message to Ravens fans on his blog Sunday which made it clear his time as a Raven is over. And NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports there is "strong mutual interest" between Smith and the San Francisco 49ers. That would reunite him with Boldin, the receiver who helped take down the 49ers in Super Bowl 47.

Smith thanked a host of people in the Ravens organization for his four years there, including a memorable Joe Flacco shoutout.

49ers, Torrey Smith strike five-year, $40M deal

After watching Anquan Boldin thrive in San Francisco, the 49ers are hoping for a similar fate with their newest pass-catching import from the Baltimore Ravens.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that wideout Torrey Smith has signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Niners, according to a source.

Personally, he was a little too soft to do well on short and intermediate routes. He would rarely fight for the ball on contested throws. A bit of a one trick pony.

However, he's a real nice guy (almost to a fault) and I do wish him luck in SF.

Not everyone has Ray Rice tendencies.

Didn't anyone tell him that place is gone?

Oh, you mean.... never mind.

I'll never forgive Torrey Smith for ruining my only game that I attended at Heinz Field catching that pass after a blatant push-off for a TD at the end of the game. Fuck that guy!

Hey, save that kind of talk for the Mike Wallace threads.
