PostSubject: Dallas fans start petition for Cowboys to sign Manziel    Sat Jan 16, 2016 10:01 pm

Quote :
Johnny Manziel has had a pretty underwhelming tenure with the Cleveland Browns that reportedly might not last much longer.

But apparently there are plenty of fans out there who want them some Johnny Football, especially in the quarterback’s home state.

In the wake of a report that new Browns coach Hue Jackson doesn’t want to move forward with Manziel on the roster, a handful of extra passionate Dallas Cowboys fans started their own website urging owner Jerry Jones to sign the second-year quarterback.

Introducing BringJohnny2Dallas.com.

“We need to bring the greatest quarterback to grace God’s country, Texas, back to Texas!” the website’s description reads. “Johnny is a quarterback that can bring some spark back to ‘Merica’s Team. The young star hasn’t yet had his chance to shine. As the future leader of the greatest sports franchise in the world, he would get that chance.

Cowboy fans are as dysfunctional as the Cowboys.

I'm surprised that anyone who is still a Manziel supporter is even capable of typing up a decipherable petition between butt-chug shots of Cuervo tequila.

Is that sarcasm? Surely that petition can't be real.

I don't think Manziel is a complete lost cause yet, but it would take a massive turn around to things in the right direction for him.

Very little of anything that occurs below and West of the Mason-Dumbass Line surprises me these days.

Might be a crazy conspiracy theory, but I really do believe that the whole behavioral act in Cleveland was part of Manziel trying to get off that team so he could go play for another team. Just seems awfully convenient to me that there was all this talk of a connection between him and Jerry Jones/The Cowboys leading up to the draft. Then there was talk that Jones wanted to draft Manziel but reluctantly decided against it, and then you have Manziel literally acting out every chance he gets publicly... Something smells fishy, and it's not just Trixie...

I'm not sure that stupidity knows any boundaries these days. It seems fairly rampant all around.

Maybe so.

But it seems to be more prominent in regions where the "H" in the word "vehicle" is distinctively pronounced.

See if that's true, that's why I can't even hate the Cowboys anymore. They're just so desperate for any spark.

in a league driven by QBs there will be a place for him on an NFL roster. especially when you see guys like Fitzpatrick, Hasselback, Vick, etc who are well past there prime given shots to play. A team would be smart to give him a shot. has to be team with a strong front office and coach with leaders in the locker room. Giants, Denver, Baltimore, Seattle, Carolina and us come to mind.

Honestly I think RG3 has a better chance of resurrecting his career than Manziel has in getting his started

In the latest incident he was not arrested - so nothing but upside to the Cowboys signing Johnny

Police called over Manziel incident; QB not arrested

Fort Worth police said in a statement Saturday that officers were called to an apartment building around 2 a.m. about a possible assault. Police talked to a 23-year-old woman, who was not the caller, who said she had been involved in an incident earlier in the evening with her ex-boyfriend in Dallas. A preliminary investigation determined that a possible assault had occurred, though the woman refused to cooperate with officers and there was no evidence of a crime scene in Fort Worth.

The woman also told officers she was concerned about her ex-boyfriend's welfare. Police officers attempted to locate him, including by helicopter, and later determined that he was safe and not in danger.

Fort Worth police confirmed the man in the report was Manziel....

When asked about the incident by ESPN, the Browns said they would have no comment at this time. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN the league was aware of the incident and "looking into it.''

Manziel's ex claims QB threatened to kill her, himself

The ex-girlfriend of NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel told police that the Heisman Trophy winner told her "shut up or I'll kill us both" after forcing her into a car, hitting her, and dragging her by the hair....

Crowley and friends bar-hopped for a few hours before she met Manziel in his room at Hotel ZaZa in Uptown Dallas....

Sources say while in his hotel room, the two of them argued over another girl. Crowley told police she tried to leave the room, but that Manziel wouldn't let her.

Crowley told police Manziel "restrained" in some manner and "led" her down a back stairway to the valet area.

"I was crying and begged the valet, 'Please don't let him take me. I'm scared for my life!'" she told police. The valet reportedly told her, "I don't know what to do"    and let Manziel leave with her.

Sources say Manziel then drove her about a half-mile to her car, which was parked near the Concrete Cowboy bar off Cedar Springs Road. She claims she jumped out of the car and tried to hide from Manziel, but he found her in some nearby bushes.

"He grabbed me by my hair and threw me back into the car and got back in himself," she reportedly told police. "He hit me with his open hand on my left ear for jumping out of the car. I realized immediately that I could not hear out of that ear, and I still cannot today, two days later."

Crowley then reportedly hit Manziel several times, hoping to get out of the car, but, she told police, Manziel "threw me off of him" and she hit her head on the car window. She told police he would not give her her phone.

Sources say Manziel then got on Interstate 30 and began driving to her apartment in Fort Worth. While en route, she claims, she yelled at him, "I hate you!" He allegedly replied that "he was going to drop me off, take my car and go kill himself," sources said.

She says she thought he was on drugs or maybe having a psychotic break. She told police she then began telling him she loved him.

She says at that time Manziel "started laughing" and then reportedly yelled at her to "shut up or I'll kill us both."

Manziel, in an interview with TMZ Sports posted on its website Thursday, said of the claims that he struck his ex-girlfriend: "It didn't happen." He also said, "I'm completely stable. I'm safe and secure."

Manziel wasn't charged by Dallas police, who said Thursday that their invesitigation is considered closed.

Well he didn't beat her in a casino  elevator with video cameras everywhere (although there probably is a camera in the hotel valet area), so he can at least try to minimize what happened.  But even Jerry Jones cannot sign this guy now.

Manziel is more to be pitied than censured.

He's an alcoholic plain and simple.
He's in denial and he has yet to recognize, much less accept, that his life has become unmanageable.

He has yet to hit bottom and until he does, nothing is going to change and in fact it's quite likely that things will get even worse. He's surrounded himself with enablers (which is typical), his ego is through the roof while his self-esteem is in the basement (also typical) and he needs to reverse that.

It's likely that he realizes all of this on some level but is as yet unable to accept that things are falling apart or perhaps even to believe that they are or that they could.

I think he's aware enough to know that he needs to make changes and I hope that he does before it's too late.

Has anyone ever seen Manziel and Ethan Couch (affluenza teen) in the same place at the same time?

Johnny Manziel's Agent Bravely Cuts Ties With Toxic Client

You’ve probably never heard of Erik Burkhardt, longtime agent to Johnny Manziel, but he had a brief moment in the NFL news cycle this morning when he released a statement claiming that he had officially cut ties with Manziel...

Manziel is the same guy today that he was yesterday, and that there has been every indication that Manziel has been heading down a destructive path for quite some time now, and that he has repeatedly been enabled by those in his inner circle. Burkhardt has been Manziel’s agent since the day the quarterback turned pro, and yet it was only when Manziel’s earning potential hit its all-time low that he felt compelled to distance himself in highly public fashion. Funny, that.

Sorry, but I don't pity overprivileged assholes who find it okay to hit/restrain women, rub their wealth in people's faces, and generally act as though the rest of humanity is beneath them and to be toyed with for their amusement. Plain and simple, this guy acts as though the rules of society don't apply to him and that he's above it all. He's a raging douche bag. He's had life handed to him on a silver platter from birth and chooses to just piss it all away. Thanks, but I'll save my pity for someone more deserving of it.
