Finally we get a game vs the Patriots** with all of the Killer B's healthy (last 2 games, one with no ben, the other with no bell).Pats** didn't look impressive at all yesterday imo. I think we can take em, this is as healthy a Steeler team we've had this deep into the playoffs as I can remember.

Not saying it's for sure it's gonna be a win (After all it's the Patriots* at foxboro), but I think they have a 50% chance of taking em.

That's painful to say 50%. I'm gonna give it a 70%. Cautious optimism. Brady got intercepted twice and rocked by Houston. He hardly played a real QB all season.

Bud and Harrison will need to play like Von Miller last year. I would get the tape from the last 3 Ravens playoff games against the Pats*. Ravens won 2, whipped them in those 2 actually and should have won the 3rd one if not for Lee Evans dropping a wide open pass in the end zone to win the game.

Le'Veon like tonight only punch the TD's. They have a shot there. Pats* dont have Gronk, so there is a shot here. They are due too.

Patriots* 4.5-point favorites over Steelers; Falcons favored by 4 over Packers

David Purdum
ESPN Staff Writer

The New England Patriots* and Atlanta Falcons are the favorites in the NFL conference championship games.

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook opened the Patriots* as 4.5-point home favorites over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium. There was early line movement toward the Patriots*, who were up to 5.5-point favorites at several sportsbooks late Sunday night.

In the NFC Championship Game, the Falcons are 4-point home favorites over the visiting Green Bay Packers. The line got as high as Atlanta -6, before settling back at four.

Well it is the Patriots* at home, that's never going to be a gimmie by any stretch. In any case I really want payback on these guys. I'm still bitter about the early 2000's playoff losses to them. They're way overdue for payback and it won't be as satisfying if we can't pay them back while Brady is still playing.

Brady is 4-0 with 15 TD and 0 INT in 4 career home games against the Steelers. The Steelers are definitely the underdog there. Could they beat the Pats*? Definitely. But they have to bring the A game on all levels.

I agree. Ben needs to play like he did in Denver on the SBXL run. Defensively they need a push in pass rush up the middle to get Brady off his spot and not let Dion Lewis and Edelman beat them. Steelers are 4.5 underdogs, I thought they would be closer to 7.

This just means that Brady is finally due for a bad game versus Pittsburgh and we are finally due to win a postseason game in New England.

Oh yeah, couldn't agree more. It is time to even the score and go after 7. Nothing would be sweeter thsn to beat them and then the Packers for 7. It is going to be a tough game but with another great day from Bell I think we have a good shot. Ben really needs an A game here. Gerry Dulac at Post Gazette said again Sunday, in the video driving to the game, if Steelers beat KC he expects it stamps their ticket to the SB. I hope he's right.

All we have to do is score TDs in the red zone. If we had done that last night the game would have been a blowout. Brady was 18/38 in the game against the Texans and I've always said if you knock him around some early he is just average.

I expect to see a heavy dose of Blount because they think he has our number. He averaged 3.9 against the Texans and Lewis averaged 3.2. We could live with that providing none of their runs end in a TD. We have to limit both Blount and Lewis. Is Gronkowski going to play? I noticed one or two times last night Deebo hit Kelce at the line to slow him up. If Gronk doesn't play he may have to knock Bennett off of his route.
Edelman had 8 receptions for 137. Those are AB numbers and that scares me. As long as Mitchell or Davis makes him pay without penalties we can limit the damage there.

Ben has to play smart and take what they give him. Feed Bell the ball until they prove they can stop him. I don't think they can. I saw Hamilton blocking effectively on a couple of plays. This is something we haven't seen a lot of the past few years but I've noticed JJ, Hamilton, and Grimble getting more involved blocking for whoever has the ball and the O-line opening holes for Bell is magic.

We have to continue to create turn overs and limit penalties.

Last but not least Boswell gets the first game ball for yesterday. The guy is money but I hope we won't need a bunch of FGs next game. Just extra points and deep kick offs.

Your thoughts were right - this linked website and the offshore sportsbook I check for informational purposes only has Pats** opening as 6 point favorites

I would anticipate that line moves to 7 before Steelers bettors invest

It's time to beat these assholes at their place and punch a ticket to the SB that way. I've been waiting for this opportunity for years. I hope I won't be disappointed.

Pressure Brady, and we can win. If the Houston Texans could do it, we should be able to. Need to go into Foxboro with an aggressive mentality. Foot needs to be on the gas from the first snap, to the last. We need to smack them in the mouth.

60 minutes of solidly executed mistake free football from the Steelers will crush the Patriots*. We just have to see it. Bell and the O-Line again will be the reason we win. Scoring some TDs instead of FGs because that shit won't fly against Marsha and her crew.

I've said before the KC game, sooner or later the Steelers will get the Pats* monkey off their backs ... why not this year. Houston lost because they don't have a quality QB and their LBs and secondary couldn't cover a a group of Girl Scouts. The Pats* defense is better than people give them credit for, but they are susceptible to TEs working the center of the field. If JJ or Green (hope he plays) can get some pass running up the middle of the field, the Pats* ILBs will begin to drop back ... opening more room for Bell.

I'm convinced the defense will do its job; Pressure Brady, cause a turnover or two, limit the Pats* running game.

Pretty sure the Steelers can move the ball; running and passing;

The question is will the offense convert field goals or TD's? Haley and Co have to come up with something. Utilize bell and DW together? Hopefully Green plays; A two TE set might not be bad either (?). If we can get TD's instead of FG's our chances of winning are better than 50%

I'm pretty sure a FG-Fest by Boswell is not going to cut it against the Pats*.

Honestly I think our defense has the ability to hold their offense in check. They really have no deep threats at WR and without gronk, well, I just don't see them putting up that many points against our D if they keep playing the way they are. TBH I thought the chiefs had more threatening big play threats than NE with kelce and hill.

The Pats* strength imo is being opportunistic on both offense and defense, they won't put together 90+ yard drives like ATL, but if you turn the ball over or make mistakes, they'll make you pay for it.

IMO, if we don't turn the ball over, we'll win this one

I don't have a percentage, but so far this post-season has been the Steelers Revenge Tour.

I feel good about the game on Sunday. Can't put my finger on it, but there's something comforting about going in to Foxborough. Maybe it's because no one is going to give us a chance walking in to their house and winning.

The underdog becomes the overdog.

as long as the Steelers go into the game as underdogs would like to see Harrison and Dupree get a couple of strip sacks Shazier gets a INT Timmons Shazier and Tuitt gets some pressure up the middle like said before got to mess up Marcia's hair can't let him stay clean and pick the defense apart.

Steelers offense has to stop getting soft around the goal line.

Good......if we take care of the ball. No picks from Ben and better red zone offense wins the game.

Vegas appears to put it at about one out of three

Money line (no pointspread, just who wins) for Steelers to beat Pats* is around +200 (risk $100 to win $200 if Steelers win straight up)

http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/money/2/

ESPN FiveThirtyEight site sets a Steelers win probability at 30%

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-nfl-predictions/?addata=espn:frontpage

Pats* have had the Steelers number in Foxboro since they trashed them in the 2002 season opener - other than the 2008 regular season game (when Brady was out for the year) this is the only Foxboro game in the Brady era in which going into the game I have thought the Steelers have a realistic chance to win. Not likely but realistic if Brady can be pressured and Ben generates some TDs without turnovers

Good find, thanks for posting. This is I think what an unbiased opinion would be. We are definitely not the favorite....but so you are telling me there is a chance.

I've been waiting for this matchup, in this game, since 2004 with shades of 2001 still lingering. Man, it took 13 years but here we are. Ever since 2004, I said that our last piece of unfinished business would be to go to New England, in the AFC Title game and send them and their fans packing. More importantly, I feel this is the best we matchup against NE probably EVER in the Brady era. This is our last chance, guys. LAST fucking chance to get the win we've all been foaming at for 13 years. Before, I'd give us, at best, a 5% chance of winning VS New England. Going into tomorrow, I'm 40/60, which is a huge spike. I'm giving NE the benefit of the doubt of not only playing at home, but them simply having our number AND THEN SOME. We can do it with this team.
