PostSubject: Week 6 vs. division leading bungals   Wed Oct 10, 2018 9:08 am

So coming in to Cincinnati against the red hot Bengals. Let's face it, it's been awhile since we've been looking up from the bottom rungs of this division and it doesn't feel good.

Last week the Steelers put together a complete game against the Falcons and although it wasn't their first win, it was their first game of minimal to no mistakes in every aspect of the game.

The Bungals on the other hand have been red hot. Last week they overcame a 17 point deficit to defeat the Dolphins who haven't been slouches this year either.

It's a tale of many stories:
1. Do the Bengals bungal themselves (again)?
2. Did the Steelers really turn the corner last week?
3. Is the "Me" time over in Pittsburgh or will it arrive in Cincinnati if things go wrong?
4. Is Cincinnati really "red-hot" with Dalton (see what I did there)?
5. Is Ben's elbow really healed now?
6. Can the Steelers defense really tackle?

Considering the tie to the Stains and the loss to the Ravens this is a must win game if they have any hope of making the playoffs this season.

Steelers will win this week. This is just the kind of game the Black and Gold get up for.

Honestly I feel if our defense has finally started to put it together that they shouldn't have any problem getting after Andy Dalton in the same way they did Matt Ryan last Sunday. Hopefully the showing agains the Falcons wasn't just a fluke. The Bengals are playing good football but they have some weaknesses. Their defense is giving up 20-30 points a game, so they're not invincible, they can be scored on. Their offense is good, but they don't have nearly as much firepower as the Falcons.

I think if we blitz, and go after Dalton the same way that we did Matt Ryan, then we'll have every chance to win. Dalton is playing good football, but he's easily rattled, and if you can get him feeling uncomfortable then he's prone to making mistakes. That has to be the gameplan defensively come Sunday. Beat the crap out of Dalton, don't let him be comfortable, and take away Joe Mixon and their running game. I would also try to shadow AJ Green with Joe Haden as much as possible, especially considering how well he handled covering Julio Jones last week. The rest of the Bengals receiving corps is not nearly as scary as the weapons the Falcons had.

Look now, I'm from western MD, so I know all about them clotheslines, and using the sun to make tea.

Down here in Florida people don't use clothes lines or know how to make real "ice tea" (not that I drink it).

And that's not hillbilly, that's country living

I know just kidding around I like ice tea with lemon and a little sugar not the sugar syrup ice tea they make around here.

a long time ago my family was from MD before they moved to Ohio before Ohio became a state.

when we live in northern Ohio my dad worked at a hydraulic cylinder factory so my mom had the Cadillac of clothes line poles made out of quarter inch steel tubing.

Crying Bengals lady is actually a good sport! Have you seen her on Pittsburgh Dad?

Yeah that was a good one. She is not a typical Bengals fan though. The last game we went to a game in Cincinnati they threw batteries at us on our way out. And they beat us that game. If we had one who knows. They might have shot at us.

LJ Fort is probably out with an ankle injury. He didn't train this week.

I want to see Haden covering Green wherever he goes. If we can stop Mixon and get after Dalton to rattle him into making mistakes.

I think this will be AB's best game yet and it would be big if the line can open holes for Connor. I also look for McDonald and JU JU to play a big role.

If Switzer can set us up with a couple nice returns that would help a lot.

If we win the toss I say we take the opening kick. We need to get out in front of these guys.

I'm going to watch the game at a local Sports bar today. It's the local Steel City Mafia hang out spot.
Former Steelers WR Ernie Mills will be there. So I'm going to go hang out and get some pics with him and get him to autograph my Terrible Towel as well. Hopefully, the game will go in our favor. :)

LoL Bengals apparently had a meeting talking about how they wanted to win with composure.

That's not likely. These guys always revert to their dirty old ways.

I sincerely hope we whoop their asses today. We need a divisional win. Either that Falcons win was the Steelers waking up, or it was just a case of everything going right for us for game.

Bengals toss Conner on the ground, no flag.

I was just telling the wife, the refs should throw flags on the garbage stuff early and put the message across it's not going to be tolerated. If they let it go on, things could get ugly. Just about the only time you're going to hear me advocating for the refs to be tossing flags for the chippy stuff, but knowing the history of this game, I just want to watch football, not a bunch of thuggery crap.
