| This guy might be there at #49 41 Cole Kmet, TE School: Notre Dame | Year: Junior Kmet has an ideal frame for the TE position. He lined up inline and flexed out in Notre Dame's offense. In the passing game, he has good speed and does a lot of damage working in the seams. He uses his big frame to wall off defenders and pluck the ball in traffic (see: Georgia game). He isn't very polished or nuanced at the top of his route. He is at his best when he stays on the move instead of working back to the quarterback. He is physical after the catch, but he doesn't provide much wiggle or elusiveness. In the run game, he can effectively shield and wall off at the point of attack, and he takes good angles working up to the second level. Kmet was the closer on Notre Dame's baseball team and should make major strides now that he's solely focused on football. Overall, Kmet isn't a dynamic player, but he's going to get stronger. I see him as a reliable, long-term starter at the position. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001110697/article/2020-nfl-draft-best-remaining-prospects-available | |

Yeah, they picked someone we'd have never gone for.

You might be right, the Steelers may not go RB. We might be surprised that Taylor and/or Swift are still there. I'd be happy with them or the two on the list below. To expand on MOP's list that I pretty much agree with, just to hedge our bets I would add (just in case they don't go RB or WR): dobbins akers pittman higgins shanualt Josh Jones OT Ezra Cleveland OT(his last name should exclude him, but he's probably the only OT I would take at 49) Zack Baun LB Trevon Diggs CB Jaylon Johnson CB I really like Michael Pittman. The guys is a WR with a Steelers' heart ... his special teams play (blocking punts, hard hits on kick coverage), blocking, and gritty play after catching the ball only gets added to his contested catch ability. They may reload O-line talent, so I threw the next two names on the list who are basically OTs (don't think they move to G). I expect Jones to be gone and probably wouldn't take a OT at 49 if these two guys are gone. There are no true Gs that should be taken this early. Just in case they go CB (Tomlin would say you can never have enough), I threw the two guys I think are worthy of a 49 pick out there. They are a little taller, but have talent. They do have some warts, hence they weren't 1st rounders. But knowing the Steelers see Ben's window closing, I think they try to get him another weapon, get by with the line they have (they most assuredly will get an O-lineman later in the draft), and go for either a RB or WR. Now watch them pick a QB and piss Ben off, again.

I think he'll definitely be there at #49, although some team desperate for a TE might just reach him in mid-way through the 2nd. For the Steelers, I think in the 2nd there's more talented players that will be on the board that should have immediate impacts on their 2020 season. Bringing in Ebron makes me think TE won't be something they look at in the 2nd or 3rd, but who knows. I do like this kid. He's a little more along the Heath Miller mold, but obviously doesn't have Heath's skills right now. There are a few other TEs who will go later who are in the Ebron mold, which I'd say they are big-bodied receivers, but probably not the best blockers. It's a weak field for TEs this year and Kmet is the best in that class.

| I'd sure like to see Jonathan Taylor on our roster (hopefully someone can fix his fumbling issues).
I don't know what direction they will go. I'm sure it won't be QB, I don't think there's another one worth drafting at this point. Makes no sense to draft a backup. It would make more sense to kick the tires on getting Rosen on the cheap (7th rounder?) but just throwing that out there.
I also don't see them picking up a TE in the 2nd. Just paid up for Ebron, that's where Steelers will roll.
Like my new screen name? Its also my gaming name (thanks Iowa Steeler for the help).

An RB. Akers or Dobbins. Just my guess. I'd guess Dobbins #1 and Akers #2 but what do I know. Very little.

| ESPN scouting says fast, big, good hands. Has trouble getting in and out of breaks.

| They wanted a weapon for Ben and Claypool can make an impact. He's big and faster than people think. | |

| Akers off the board. I had the idea if Steelers didn't go RB in round 2 they would not draft one. If that's the case, I wonder what they target round 3. _________________ | |

| Claypool has Calvin Johnson-like intangibles. I like the pick. _________________ "If I could start my life all over again, I would be a professional football player, and you damn well better believe I would be a Pittsburgh Steeler." - Jack Lambert RIP to the late great B.B.
