The reconfiguration of the Steelers’ offensive line this season involves the move of Feiler to left guard and either Chuks Orkorafor or Zach Banner taking over at right tackle. DeCastro, Pouncey and Villanueva hold their respective spots, but Villanueva — who turns 32 next month — is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the spring. DeCastro (30) and Pouncey (31) have expiring contracts after next season, meaning their play this season will help determine whether the Steelers sign them to extensions in 2021.

Steelers front office has a lot of work to do with the offensive line in the next few seasons.

what direction is the offense going? is QB Coach Canada the future offensive coordinator? what type of offensive linemen fit into his system?

imo are 3 important questions when replacing the Steelers aging o-line. l'm old school offensive system and offensive line go hand in hand a offensive system won't be as efficient if you don't have right type of line men blocking for it.

Banner at right, Chuks has a shot next year to take over for Villanueva.

As I stated in another thread if Fitchners Offense sputters this year his head rolls and Canada is given the job. UNLESS #7 reinjures his throwing arm or suffers a season ending injury.

Pouncey had an absolutley terrible last year he was a weak link. Some have said that is or could be attributed to Fosters declining play so hopefully Feiler will help with Pouncey's game elevating. If not we are going to need to draft a guard and a center if we dont have someone waiting in the wings.

With the way they keep talking abiut the salary cap may take a hit this team/organization has zero wiggle room or room for error drafting or finding servicable replacements at bargain basement prices.

Pouncey definitely needs to step up his game, last year was his worst by far but I get it because we had QBs that held onto the ball too long, and a running game that was non-existent at times with defenses stacking the box. With Ben back under center I expect things will get a bit easier for the o-line, and for everyone else on offense in general.

Yeah as really think it is about bulking up the offense. Protecting that of in the Big Ben and whoever comes after him.

getting rid of foster alone should make them better. they should have never gave him that last contract. his play was going downhill BEFORE they gave it to him. personally i think they should leave feiler at tackle and try starting Wiz at guard and see how that works out first.

It can't be overstated how poorly the line played last year. That's why I'm not ready to throw in the towel on our current backup QBs. They were playing with one rookie receiver, a second-year receiver seeing his first real playing time, a new No. 1 receiver struggling in that role, practice squad running backs, an O-line that was atrocious and an OC who had no clue how to play the hand he was dealt. Even Ben could have done only so much with that offense.

yup, a nightmare calling plays for that group when you have no running game, blocking suspect and your QB is getting bum rushed every passing down. with everything wally said I was impressed what the Duck was able to do.

We bought this guy in for a workout. Unfortunately, injuries are piling up already.
