i hate the camera angles they used back in the day. with those close ups you can't see what is going on the rest of the field. 2021 - 2022 Offseason Moves - Page 17 2625562446
i would love to see how they are trying to defend the wing T.
my small town high school has rode the wing T to several state championships (i think we are up to 8 and the cross town rival school has 8 as well ) . so 16 state chamionships from a town of 20k people. those big city schools in baltimore ,who actually are allowed to recruit players that aren't in their school district ( we can't ) , dont ever see the Wing T.

they should have a mandatory common sense course in college. it amazes me how many times i see in the local news where someone gets pulled over on the interstate for speeding and they have a car filled with drugs .. oh and it is usually someone from Baltimore .. 2021 - 2022 Offseason Moves - Page 17 312503953 if only CRUISE CONTROL was a thing .. No ...not smoking the product during transportation may also help avoid detection... 2021 - 2022 Offseason Moves - Page 17 2087824411

Quote :
Steelers already looking to trade jersey numbers with new NFL rule

It didn't take the Steelers' players long to get in on the fun of speculating what new numbers they might wear with the NFL's new jersey rule.

The proposed new rule by the Chiefs was passed by the NFL Thursday, expanding jersey number options for skill position players. The point was to help manage rosters with expanded practice squads in the NFL, as restrictions on skill players' numbers was becoming difficult for some teams to manage.

Because of the new rule, running backs, tight ends, fullbacks, H-backs and wide receivers can wear numbers 1-49 and 80-89. Safeties and cornerbacks can choose from 1-49, while linebackers can pick 1-59 and 90-99. Offensive linemen can still pick 50-79 while defensive linemen 50-79 and 90-99. Previously only quarterbacks, kickers and punters were allowed single-digit jersey numbers, but those groups can still wear numbers between 1-19.

That makes the rules closer to that of high school and college football where less restrictions on jersey numbers has always been part of the culture. And now, some NFL players are getting into the idea.

Especially some Steelers. Here's JuJu Smith-Schuster's idea of switching back to his college No. 9, which would require him talking to Chris Boswell:

   NFL approved Single-Digit #’s... should I switch? pic.twitter.com/NHGoI3QLpy
   — JuJu Smith-Schuster (@TeamJuJu) April 22, 2021

Other Steelers like Devin Bush don't have that problem as his old No. 10 from his Michigan days is wide open. He made a more subtle post on Instagram Thursday, joking around about how he'd look while picking his new jersey number.

But Joe Haden took it a step further. After not playing college football since he was drafted out of Florida in 2010, his old No. 5 jersey still had interest to him coming back, which of course conflicts with Josh Dobbs' number. He jokingly asked about that on Twitter:

Looks so sick!!! Really got me thinking.... how much @josh_dobbs1 ??? 🤷🏽 https://t.co/2VXjwcL57P
   — Joe Haden (@joehaden23) April 22, 2021

And funny enough, Dobbs seemed open to the idea:

You are the 🐐 and that 5 is fire 🔥. I’ll go easy on your pockets as long as we get Claypool to give up the #11 👀. What do you think? @ChaseClaypool https://t.co/wSSloka6Y0
   — Josh Dobbs (@josh_dobbs1) April 22, 2021

While some NFL athletes like Tom Brady hate the idea, the concept of opening up jersey numbers does seem to get plenty of players interested.

so is the NFL going to have  free jersy trade in ? what a crock of shit. 2021 - 2022 Offseason Moves - Page 17 2625562446 fans who own a jersey that got swapped should file a class action lawsuit demanding free jerseys.

He obviously got busted by the new, modern cop. Remember back in the day when watching the show Cops and those guys would body slam an old lady for J-walking? This cop is telling Layne how to not get caught next time. The comments on the gun are good: "Next time check the state laws before traveling", that's reasonable. But once he starts stalking about weed scattered all over the car, grinders all over Rolling Eyes Then comes that great advice "Leave that stuff at home and you won't get searched".  2021 - 2022 Offseason Moves - Page 17 2087824411

As for his roster spot, the Steelers will have to replace him on ST. I'm not sure they saw him as a viable candidate for a significant CB role. They had Pierre ahead of him by the end of last season. But you may be right that they will need to address CB in their top 3 picks just because they lost 2 guys and haven't replaced them with anyone with serious potential.

Imagine a Cleveland officer pulling over a Steelers player.   Of course, the 30 mph over the speed limit might have been a contributing factor....

Even before his arrest CB was one of our 3 biggest needs. Who do we have? Haden, Sutton and Pierre. That's it. And someone named Trevor Williams who has done nothing the past 2 seasons. Letting Nelson go must be their most boneheaded move of the last 5 years. Now we need a starter and a back-up, one being an outside corner and the other slot corner.

I know we're thin, real thin but I'd cut him now. Having said that the LAST thing I want to see is us picking a 2nd/3rd round project CB at 24. What an idiot.

For what it's worth. Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Ray Fittipaldo makes his final mock draft:

Ray Fittipaldo's final seven-round Steelers mock draft

1. (No. 24 overall) RB Najee Harris, Alabama (6-1, 232) — Harris could have entered the draft after his junior season, but he returned and improved his draft stock. He rushed for nearly 4,000 yards and scored 46 touchdowns during his four-year college career, including 1,466 yards and 26 touchdowns in a standout senior campaign that ended with a national championship. What makes him a coveted player in the draft is his ability to be a receiver out of the backfield and pass protect. Harris caught 70 passes for 729 yards the past two seasons. He never has to come off the field and can be the next “bell cow” Mike Tomlin always wants in his feature back.

2. (No. 55 overall) C Creed Humphrey, Oklahoma (6-4, 302)
3. (No. 87 overall) OT Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa (6-8, 311)
4. (No. 128) CB Ambry Thomas, Michigan (6-0, 191)
4a. (No. 140) WR Anthony Schwartz, Auburn (6-0, 186)
6. (No. 216) OLB Janarius Robinson, Florida State (6-5, 263)
7. (No. 245) P Max Duffy, Kentucky (6-1, 196)
7a. (No. 254) ILB Erroll Thompson, Mississippi State (6-1, 250)

Saunders: Steven Nelson and the Steelers Making Up Would Be the Best Outcome for Both Parties

https://steelersnow.com/saunders-steven-nelson-and-the-steelers-making-up-would-be-the-best-outcome-for-both-parties/

Quote :
It has been nearly two months since the Steelers surprisingly released starting cornerback Steven Nelson in a move that general manger Kevin Colbert said was motivated solely by a need to trim space under the salary cap.

Part of that is likely because there aren’t a lot of teams that have the cap space to make signing Nelson at something approaching his expected salary viable. According to OvertheCap.com, less than half of the league has enough cap space to sign Nelson to something approaching his former deal, and of course, many of them do not have a need at the cornerback position at this late date on the calendar.

But if it’s going to be a one-year contract, both sides would likely benefit from him returning to Pittsburgh this fall.

could be crazy off season when the steelers start trimming per-NFL Rules.

Ben Roethlisberger: Dwayne Haskins' throwing motion among ‘prettiest I’ve ever seen’

https://triblive.com/sports/ben-roethlisberger-mechanics-of-new-steelers-qb-dwayne-haskins-prettiest-ive-ever-seen/

the biggest thing l liked about haskins at ohio state was how accurate he was at hitting the crossing patterns in stride with the receivers.

Extension gives Mason Rudolph security as he pursues starting job with Steelers in 2022

https://triblive.com/sports/extension-gives-mason-rudolph-security-as-he-pursues-starting-job-with-steelers-in-2022/

would like to see Rudolph and Haskins show something this year and be the #2 and #3 quarterbacks. get the o-line and running game going always helps out young quarterbacks.

this is the haskins l'd like to see showup in Pittsburgh or rudolph when one of my talented receiver get a step on your DB, the strong arm QB who can get the ball there in a hurry or drop it in a bucket when needed. the running game opens up the middle of the field the o-line coming together enough where Harris gets enough running lanes this season.
